Dell Inspiron 6400 Power Pack Failure?
I have the above laptop purchased just over 2 years ago. Power pack failed just after the first year and I bought another. My problem is that when I switch on I have to F1 to get the laptop started due to a power pack problem. I have purchased another battery but it does not get charged. Is there anyway of checking either the power pack and or the battery

Re: Dell Inspiron 6400 Power Pack Failure?
hi,
is the new power pack same model (non generic) as the first one? if it a generic one, try the genuine one (from Dell). use a multimeter if AC adapter outputs the required voltages. to test the battery, swap it with another from a similar laptop. also this happens if outputs insufficient power. it can also mean your motherboard is malfunctioning.
