Compaq Presario v6000 start up problem
I have a problem with my compaq presario v6000
Basically when i start it up i get the usual Compaq screen then onto a dos screen asking me whether i want to use: Safe mode Safe Mode networking Last know config normal mode etc.... with each of the above options i chose i then seems to loads up a list of dos commands, stops and cuts the power off Its then repeats this constantly unless i hold the power button down to turn the computer off. I have done the usual f11 recovery but the problem is still the same. |

Re: Compaq Presario v6000 start up problem
hi danielnufc,
so you mean each time you power ON (regardless of type of boot) you get a power SHUT OFF (not a blue screen or a hang)? if this is so, it can be your RAM, or HDD, or something on motherboard (CPU or GPU). d/load Ubuntu Linux live CD (use the link on my sig.) and burn the image into CD. you can use that CD to boot into a Linux environment. also you can use that CD to run Memtest86+ on your RAM modules. i suggest you do the latter first. When you boot with the Ubuntu live CD, it will give you a screen just like this
