Help Mod A Dell DA-2 AC Adapter
I recently purchased a Dell DA-2 power supply with the purpose of interfacing it with a non-computer device. When I connect the power supply to the AC outlet the green light on the power supply illuminates. However, when I measure the voltage coming out of the DC end of the cable (between pins 2 and 6, 3 and 7, 4 and 8) it does not provide any output. Does the DA-2 require a pin on the DC end of the cable to be shorted before providing the desired electrical output? Also, does someone know if anyone manufactures an 8 pin DC power connector that would fit the DC end of the DA-2 cable (to re-engineer it for a different DC power interface without sacrificing the cable)?
Thank you for your kind assistance. Respectfully, Gary |
