Averatec 3200 Laptop Battery Problem
I have had my averatec AV3250H1-01 Laptop since Dec.2004. The battery worked up untill about a year and a half ago. but mysteriously stopped working. I don't have the funds to fix it. About a month ago, i decided that i had too much junk on my computer, so i used a reset disk and reset it. i installed stuff back, and went to the averatec website and started updating my drivers. well, after a few, i took a break and opened a game. well, it froze my computer, so i got mad and unplugged my laptop(that turns it off because my battery doesn't work.) but it stayed on. the battery meter started draining. normally, it stays at 94-100% even though it doesnt work. well, i celebrated and i continued updating drivers. the next day, when i tried to turn my computer on, it wouldn't come on. so, i know my problem is most likely driver related. i just dont know what to do.

Re: Averatec 3200 Laptop Battery Problem
-- you may have a dead battery. the 94% charge may mean a false reading. in some laptops this is fixed by a bios update. i am just not sure with this model but reviews for this model say, it has a weak battery even right out of the box. having said that you might want to test the battery in a similar laptop if it still has some life in it. if it has life left in it, then i suggest you consider updating your BIOS and chipset drivers.

Re: Averatec 3200 Laptop Battery Problem
well, i know the battery works, because for that one session, it worked just fine for a few hours, im almost positive that it has something to do with the drivers. all of them are up to date, do you know i how could check for any possible hardware conflicts?

Re: Averatec 3200 Laptop Battery Problem
hardware conflicts may be checked in Device Manager. btw if you have any doubts with the drivers, try another operating system. i mean try Ubuntu live CD (d/load from the link on my sig. below). no need to install just pop in the live CD into the CD drive and boot from it. there you can see and test if your battery is charging.
