Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
I would like to add information to this since I have the exact same problem.
If you force your wireless card to connect to your router as G and not N the bluescreens stop. I have been successfully doing this since the release of SP 1 with no blue screens. I am connecting with the same Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN card to a LinkSys WRT330N and if I let the card connect at N it will bluescreen. It bluescreens everytime I start using any VoIP software. It may be 10 minutes it may be an hour but it's gonna crash. However if I force the card to connect to the router at G then I have no problems other then the card performining horribly. I will never use another Intel card if I have a choice in it. Last edited by bgregory; 07-12-2008 at 06:19 AM. |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
Hi. . .
Thank you for you invaluable input on this. I can confirm per the mini kernel dumps that the originator of this thread, RPracic did have Vista SP1 installed. I don't know what router was being used. Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
Hello,
I want to apologize for my absence. I was away for 3 months on business and barely managed to finish some of my work here, much less hop on these forums and inform you. But, I am very pleased to return and hear some good news! Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it will work for me. I will certainly try, but the router I have is built to only use N. It's an N wireless router and it you usually can't connect unless your wireless card is looking for a connection at N. Nonetheless, I will double check all settings and see if I can't come up with something. I am sincerely grateful for all of the help everyone here has provided! Thank you all very, very much, for taking time out of your schedules and providing this excellent free of charge service. I truly appreciate it, -Rob Pracic |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
Rob, after I posted that I tried updating my drivers for my NIC with the latest from Intel's site directly. Since I have done that my problem has gone away and I before trying that I was guaranteed within 2 hours of use each time every time I would blue screen.
I have been testing this for a month now almost without problem. Try getting your drivers from here and see if this fixes you: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strOSs=All&strTypes=All&ProductID=2753&OSFullName=All%20Operating%20Systems&lang=eng |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
Good news!!
It's been running now for 3 days straight with no reboots/BSODs. I'm very excited to say that the network card has been performing very well after the latest patch. Thank you very very much bgregory, for point that one out! And thanks again for all the help from everyone! It took a while, but problem solved! Thanks, -Rob |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
You are quite welcome, glad it worked for you to!
I am really dissapointed with Intel's product these days. I don't care for the performance of this card even when it is working right to be honest. I am seriously considering replacing it in my laptop. But atleast we aren't blue screening anymore, hehe. |

Re: [SOLVED] BSOD - Vista Ultimate x64 - Unknown Cause
I must interject to say that I have a laptop with the Intel 4965AGN and have never had a problem (1 year old). Most recently a new laptop had a Broadcom wifi that did not have anywhere near the reception of the Intel 4965AGN. This is just one reason that I returned it and got a different laptop with an Intel 5100 wifi. No Internet connectivity problems to date.
Thank you for your invaluable input on this bgregory. Very much appreciated. And Rob... I wish you all the best and do hope that your BSOD-free era continues uninterrupted. Regards . . . jcgriff2 . |
