Acer system restore probs, need to override unknown password!

Can anyone help with a small problem i'm having doing a system restore on my refurbished acer laptop?

The battery died when i was initially setting it up and now when i turn it on it tells me that the system is not fully installed. When i click on the ok button to run the set up again, it ends up at the same screen....

I know that by doing a system restore will correct this problem, however, the person that done the refurb has entered a password and without it i can't go any further. The hint for the passwrod is "haha" and i've tried everything i can think of to guess it without luck!

I am unable to contact the place where i bought it at the moment due to the nature of my work and the hours i do, so can anyone help me sort it on the quick?

I dont have any back up discs with it and a cracked copy of XP that i have isn't recognised as the sytem won't run at the moment!

Thanks in anticipation of your help!

Let me make sure I understand...you have a stolen copy of XP & you can't get in to the OS because you do not have the password.

Am I understanding correctly ? I mean I don't want to take anything out of context.

Mark, due to forum rules we are unable to to assist in circumventing passwords or assist with pirated software.

Quote:
ASSISTANCE WITH ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

We will not provide any user with information about the location of websites that assist with software pirating, hacking, password cracking and keystroke recording software. Furthermore we will not offer advice, assistance or instruction with regard to any of the above activities, illegal or otherwise.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

Users may not post hacks, cracks, or give instruction how to pirate any type of software, or anything similar, in any forum of TSF. We do not condone, support or give instruction on any illegal activity pertaining to computer systems, computer hardware, computer software programs or computer related activities. Included in this group of activities are requests for help to circumvent system admin passwords or Administrator settings on networks. We do understand that the majority of requests may be legitimate, but we do not have the means to discern these from non-legitimate requests.
You'll need to contact the person/place that you bought the laptop from for the password issue, and i recommend investing is legit OS.
