I have a dell C840 that requires a 90W power supply. I have a 70W power supply available. I was told by a tech that it would be ok just hit the requested "F" key and it would be ok. What would actually happen?

Re: 70W power supply for a 90W dell c840?!?!?!?!?!?!
the ac power is insufficient to run it properly
run from the battery so it looks like you need the correct power block

Re: 70W power supply for a 90W dell c840?!?!?!?!?!?!
hi
You Need to use the correct wattage for the laptop otherwise the computer will not work properly I suggest you forget what the so called 'tech' told you and get the correct power supply for the laptop As my power supply died a couple of weeks ago and i tryed the same thing -- doesn't work!
