Cry Please help if you've experienced this problem.

Okay, i am having trouble starting my laptop. It goes to a black screen saying that I could try to reset the computer by having the original setup cd-rom, but I lossed it in a fire.... I was wondering if there was any way possible I can restore my computer back..... Respond if you have a solution please.

Re: Please help if you've experienced this problem.

what model laptop? have you tried to get into safe mode? Start pc and tap the F8 key to see if an option menu comes up? If so, try the option, "Start with known last working configuration" if that does not work and you can get to this option screen, choose "safe mode"
If you can get into safe mode, click start, programs, accessories, system tools, and click sytem restore and try to restore to an earlier time when your pc worked.

If you only get the black screen and can not use the F8 option, list the model and will see if anything else to try. Are you sure that laptop did come with installation CD?

Was anything installed recently before this started happening. Does the laptop lights light like the laptop is loading ? Does the cd rom spin?

did anyathing happen prior to this happening?
