HP notebook sound failure

My sound stopped working a few days ago. I suspect the sound card, but wondering if it's some other issue before spending $$$.

in the device manager click on view at the top
then show hidden devices
then check for any yellow alongside your sound entries

hi,

download audio drivers for your model from HP. uninstall the old drivers and install the new one. if this does not work, try updating your chipset drivers (d/load from the same website).

do post back whatever the result, OK?
