Problem Toshiba M30-107, please help
Hello, my colleague has a Toshiba Satellite M30 laptop, 1.8GHz Centrino processor, 1Gb Ram, XP home, NVidia card.
Since a while he has been experiencing slow speed and sometimes the laptop stops responding and starts responding again after a while. He has installed google gadgets and it shows that sometimes HDD read speed becomes zero. The mouse moves but everything else just hangs. In a few seconds, everything is back to normal. We have done all, clean temp files (CCleaner), Defrag, clean registry. Checked the HDD with various utilities and all showed it to be ok. Downloaded a software called HDD Health and it showed HDD temp as 35° and health as 100%. It showed system temp as 65-70° so we disassembled the laptop to clean the dust on heatsink. There wasn't much and it did not make any difference. Please advice what else can we do. He thinks fan speed may have become slow, can this happen? |

Re: Problem Toshiba M30-107, please help
The tests showed result as :
CPU Utilization : 68% Random access : 28ms Average read speed : 1.8 Mb/s So what is the problem, CPU or HDD? |
