Re: Battery not Charging

How old is the computer? In your case it sounds as if the battery isn't holding a charge. In that case you probably need a new battery. Do you leave the power supply plugged into your computer while it's off? In doing so you'll fry even a new battery to just minutes of use. Always unplug your power supply from the laptop when not in use.

Some things that can cause a heavy drain on batteries would include, gaming where the graphics chipset is using a lot of power.

Wireless or WiFi use. The onboard or PCMCIA Wifi card can use a lot of power.

Watching DVD's also consume a lot of battery life.

Hi,

if it is an old battery, no other fix but to get a new one.
