C000021a
So I've been cracking my head on this one all week...
I'm the tech support guy at a large company in germany. Were running older Dell Latitude, Optiplex and newer HP clients in the offices and I have the following problem: Now and again the Dell machines fail to boot and pop up the old BSOD C000021a 0X335J 75B06 X2262D48 After a reboot the machines are fine... It only happens sporadicly, so sporadic infact that I've never even seen the error personally so I spent the last week or so booting a D800 over and over after it's user said it had gone BSOD... No errors. But still I get users calling me every week or so saying their machine won't boot. Every time it's a different machine but always a Dell Latitude or Optiplex.... It's a minor problem as the machines only need a reboot and it dosn't happen that oftern but... Can anyone explain this? I'm baffled. And yes I'm too lazy to spellcheck this post ^_- |

Re: C000021a
Hi,
Try checking out dell's website and see if they have updated chipset, videocard, soundcard drivers, and more. Also I would probably check what is running in the background and in the startup. In windows click on start, run, and then type in "msconfig". Then click on the startup bar and uncheck the programs that the firm does not need running. |

Re: C000021a
This occurs when Windows switches into kernel mode and a user-mode subsystem, such as Winlogon or the Client Server Runtime Subsystem (CSRSS), is compromised. Security can no longer be guaranteed. Because Win XP can’t run without Winlogon or CSRSS, this is one of the few situations where the failure of a user-mode service can cause the system to stop responding. This Stop message also can occur as a result of malware infestation or when the computer is restarted after a system administrator has modified permissions so that the SYSTEM account no longer has adequate permissions to access system files and folders.
