XP Blue Screen on boot

I have just run a repair install XP home on fujitsu notebook. When PC now trys to boot I get the dreaded 'blue screen'... Technical Info STOP: 0x0000007b etc. I have run chkdsk and changed the memory... also have run the repair install again... Help

Sounds like you may need to do a full re-installation (as opposed to a repair install) as this is normally caused by virus's. However it could be caused by something else possible problems are disscussed further here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

Have you tried booting into safe mode? You maybe be able to run virus scans in safe mode, or retrieve anything important before fully formatting your hdd.

I have tried safe mode etc. Just really dont want to do a full install... There are lots of programs on there and configurations such as VPN etc. Thanks

Try going into bios and changing the following:
Advanced Opts: ( i think )
[No Execute Memory Protect]

Its not got that option in the bios. But thanks anyway. I have connected the drive to a PC and ran Anti-virus but its clean... Loks like I have to 'Bite the bullet' and format... Thanks for your help

download and run the hard drive makers diognostic utility on the hard drive
can you see the hard drive listed correctly in the bios
have you gone through the link posted above and looked at all the other links referenced in it
