HP dv4030 US notebook display malfunctions
When I turn on my HP DV4030US laptop the display turns red and stays red while Win XP is booting. After Win XP installs I get the Windows colors wioth some red streats and the background of menus is pale blue and the letters black or dark red, but hard to read. The display is red even if I boot with a floppy and no operating system, with a rescue disk and following removal of the hard disk. In other word, it does noit seem that the problem is Win XP related. Some colors are not right after Win XP installs. I would appreciate any advice regarding the cause of this problem and how it could be fixed.
Thank you. |

try using an external monitor and see if the problem persists... if yes, could be a video card problem. if not, then it might be the lcd.
