password override from blue/gray screen
Hi,
I recently bought a used Inspiron 1200, when I turn it on it asks for admin password. (on a blue/gray colored screen) Heck I don't know? Can someone help me to override this, or did I just throw away some money? Serverice tag # 61S6061-595B I believe windows xp is on there. hope to hear from you soon and Thanks for you help. cindy

you need to ask the individual you purchase the laptop from. Its against the rules of this forum to help bypass passwords since theres no way to verify the source..

In most new laptops there is no way to clear these passwords. This was done because so many laptops were being stolen. Dell has a backdoor password, but will only give it to the owner they have in their system.
So unless you can get the password from the seller, there is nothing we can help you with.
