Re: Sky Wireless Laptop Not Connecting!

hello

i take it you have the standard Netgear Routor sky sends out?

1.Check all the lights are on on the routor (u should see the wireless, internet lights.) if they are on try this next 2 steps if the internet one isnt go to number 5
2. try login onto the routor load up your web browers type in http://192.168.0.1 the defult username and pass is admin and the pass is sky. if it lets you login to your routor check the connection status ( on the main page at the bottom you will see a button) if that says it not connected try reboting the routor. click on Diagnostics and press reboot rourtor
3. if the routor doesnt let u connect if you can try conencting to the routor by a lan cable. if the local lan connection still has Limited or no connection it means its not your laptop its the Internet.
4. if aboth does work then you need to play around with your wireless andit will kick in sooner or later.
5 if it doesnt make sure your cable from the routor to the Phone line port isnt more than 8-10 meters long (the line strength dies the longer the line is) and make sure its connecting to the main phone line port.

if none of these work check with sky if the line is working at there end. and report back

Ben

Edit - make sure when u conenct via wireless you put the Passkey in UPPER CASE not lowercase (or Directly as it is shown on the bottom of the routor) when setting up my gfs she kept puttin it in lower and it wouldnt work.
