Toshiba sat Pro A100 Battery porblem(or i think it is)

Hi

Heres my problem.... I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-998

The things is it died the other day when i unpluged it and took a while before it come back on (i took the bat out and put it back in a few times). then it happened again but this time wouldnt come back at all. so i checked the power supply going to the latop and that was fine with no problems. so i thought id get a new battery and see if that helped. the new battery worked but only worked cus it had charge. as soon as it died and i unplugged it went straight away again. aslo why the laptop worked it would not tell me anything about the battery (how much charge, time left, or any status just said N/A) and the battery light on the laptop wouldnt come on if pluged in or not. it did flash once when it as in standby mode saying the battery was dead but then wouldnt charge when i plug it in just kept saying it was in standby and that the bat was dead(i coulldnt turn the laptop on at all) after all this the laptop is dead and does nothing with ever the new or old battries (as i assume they both have no charge)

What i think is wrong - basicly there is no power going to the battery so there not charging or somthing like that

hope u lot can tell me what u think is the problem and any solutions that i can use :)

Thanks Ben (thanks for reading the essay lol)

Re: Toshiba sat Pro A100 Battrie porblem(or i think it is)

Could be a possible dead AC Adapter port of faulty motherboard.

Re: Toshiba sat Pro A100 Battrie porblem(or i think it is)

hi, could you tell me if you ever solved this problem with your laptop, as i've just experienced the same problem whilst on holiday, it took 5 days before the laptop started working again. it works fine on mains power (like yours) but does not seem to be charging the battery (even though it says its charging in the status bar). any help you could give me would be most appreciated.
