My comp's startup starts black

my computer starts up black. its a hp pavilion 4900. sometimes after a few days of leaving it unplugged it will login for about 20 mins then freeze. Most of the time it will stay black and do nothing.

there is a small time where i can press F10, F12, and Esc to access weird stuff i dont understand. I have my computer to a friend and he made it work for a week until it froze and wouldnt work again.

so i know its possible how to fix this but idk how. if anyone knows how i'd be happy to know. thanks

blow the dust out from the inside with a can of air paying paticular attention around the heatsiks and fans
check in the bios for your tempretures and voltages and post them

i have a can of that, i will give it a shot

i guess i just spray it in any hole i can find under the laptop. so thats what ill do

edit

i sprayed the fan deccently and still no login.

although i did login recently today then did a system restore. after that it went back to the freezing and not starting up

when you don't mention it is a laptop you will receive instructios for a desktop
tap f8 when booting and from the boot options menu try
last known good configuration
run
chkdsk /r
i have moved you to laptops
