Laptops Time....

Hello, in new so go easy on my please!

right, my problem is that on my new laptop (bought a couple of weeks ago) the time keeps changing. whenever i unplug it on a night and leave it on the floor (turned off), the time resets back to November 2006 12.00am. However when i leave it plugged in and turned off all night, the time stays correct, it is not the timezone and i doubt it to be the mobo battery as it is a brand new laptop, any thoughts?

Laptop Specs:

Advent 9315
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.5Ghz
2GB RAM
120GB HDD
Vista Home Premium

Re: Laptops Time....

Whenever you unplugged the power cord, the time resets, right? It sounds like a CMOS battery. You can bring the laptop back to the shop you bought it and ask them to replace the battery there.
