hi.
i have a presario c500 laptop with vista premium. dual core intel. 1 gig ram. intel video with 224 meg of shared ram( 32 to 224, highest ive seen it use is 65 meg) 80 gig hdd. my problem is it is very slow. 8 to 10 minutes to boot. 5 minutes to open any folder, ect... now before you go right to virus.... i put in a new hdd loaded vista on it. which took HOURS. and the laptop was the same..ok next i took the ram from my wifes laptop and swaped it with mine. her computer worked normally and mine was still the same. dxdiag shows the correct spped of cpu and shows 2 cpu`s as it should. windows system info shows all is well also. so i have ruled out viruses, spy/malware, ram and hdd. i am fairly certain the cpu is at least functioning. so what else is there? im left with bios settings?(which i know have not changed) or some motherbaord problem. any ideas would be helpfull. thank you

Re: [SOLVED] extreamly slow presario
i am the only person using this laptop. so i know for a fact the bios settings havent been changed. that being said. after i sent off for a warranty box.
i decided to try and reset the bios. after i reset to factory defaults it booted and runs perfectly. go figure..
