Hp Dv8000

Hey all,
I have a HP DV8000 with a 17" widescreen monitor and recently the hinges that hold the monitor onto the body snaped on both sides. is this a design flaw? how do i fix this? i am open to any suggestions

Is this a new laptop or less than a year old? If so, then contact HP and probably you will have to send it in for warranty repair.

its about a 1 and 3/4 years old so i dont think the waranty would apply
