[SOLVED] Windows Update?
Hi I just bought a brand new Dell Inspiration 1520 laptop. I went to windows update and downloaded all the critical updates I needed. The problem is everyone was fine except ( critical update microsoft virtual machine vm). It would download it and require a restart, I did that atleast 5 times and the windowls logo in the notification area keeps alerting me of updates needing to be installed. I know there is a problem with microsoft supporting virtual machine, but besides hiding the update what else can I do

Re: Windows Update?
Hi,
Look at the hotfix numbers and download the installers from them from Microsoft's website. You often have to have certain updates before others and sometimes it requires visiting Windows Update 5 times to get them all. Check if they are the same updates.

Re: Windows Update?
I fixed my problem. I went to major geeks.com and downloaded umnsjvn which is the removal tool for microsoft virtual machine, which is not supported no more by microsoft as of Jan 2008. You just run it and it removes any detection of vm on your system and you just replace it with sun java. Now I go to windows update and presto no more being bothered by the update!!!!!!
Thank God |
