Problem with NTLDR is compressed...going out of my mind with this....
Hi,
I have found this issue posted before, but it's not exactly what's happened to my Gateway MX3414 laptop. Long story short, I had to do a system recovery and not knowing anything about restoring anything back to original state wasn't aware (nor did the Windows OS CD state or the computer when it prompted me to do it) to back up any files. So pretty much everything is deleted on the computer.....so this is what I'm getting now. Gateway System Recovery Press "R" to display Gateway system recovery options Press F11 to start recovery NTLDR is compressed Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart I already contacted Gateway via email and they gave me pretty much the standard instructions for NTLDR missing....mine doesn't state missing so their instructions aren't working. I tried getting to the areas they told me to do press enter, then one, the certain commands, however, the ONLY thing I can do is get back to the system recovery screen making it an annoying go around and getting right back to the same black screen, blinking the above at me.....any thoughts? Is this something I can fix or am I going to need to get someone who knows what the heck their doing to fix this for me? I do have the Windows OS CD that will put it back to the original state, but right now it's pretty much useless. Thanks for any help! April |
