Laptop DVD Burner Compatibility
I just purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad R61, assuming the "DVD/CD RW" optical drive in the specs meant a DVD/CD multi drive, but now that I have the system I see it has only a DVD rom.
Purchased from Lenovo, the "ThinkPad Super Multi-Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive" that I want is $200 (part # 40Y8623), which is out of my price range. How do I ensure that a cheaper drive I order from another site is compatible with the R61? This drive has an "Enhanced IDE (ATAPI) Interface", which I assume is compatible with the R61. Is this the only spec I need to look for? Thanks:) |
