Will I notice a difference??

I have a toshbia satellite P205-S7476 with an Intel Duo T5250 processor with 2gb of ram. Will I notice a difference if I raised it to 3gb of ram? It seems okay when I'm running one application but when I start doing more than one thing, it starts getting a little slow.

Re: Will I notice a difference??

Maybe maybe not. You say applications are we talking basic, like office, web? Many people say they notice a difference between 2GB and 3GB in Vista. You have XP also, any difference? I mean if the same problem in XP I would suspect not a RAM issue as 2GB is considered more than enough for running most apps. Are you seeing a lot of HDD activity? This is important to determine if a RAM issue in the first place. If not hitting HDD (page file) then increasing RAM likely will not improve but if hitting HDD when not doing anything then different issue..

Answering above could help figure, if major hang I have doubts RAM issue or RAM alone. 2GB should at least run alright. Antivirus (Norton) can cause these problems as many other things (Vista).
