problems with usb devices
Hi there folks.
Recently I got a new labtop (hp compaq 6820s) and all was going well till one day it woudn't want to read any new usb devices i tried to connect to it (mouses , flash drives, etc.) At first it read my first mouse well , a gaming controller , and a flash drive I had. One day a cousin of mines gave me a anti-virus program to install , but it never installed properly (it might have been due to the built in antivirus/firewall program that came with the labtop). Anyways after uninstalling the anti-virus program from my cousin, I tried to connect a 2nd gaming controller I have , it said it was searching for the driver for it , then after about 10 minutes , it would just say that It coudn't find it. It prompted me with the options of either letting the computer search for the right driver , or to just stop searching. I decided to go with choice 1 , but after another long time , it just said it coudn't find the right driver , and the controller woudn't work. Same thing happens when I try another mouse , or another flash drive. Could someone explain to me why it doesnt want to read any new devices and how to fix it please? Sorry for the long post , and thanks in advance. |

Re: problems with usb devices
It didn't work.
I uninstalled the drivers , then rebooted. When it started up , it said it was searching for the drivers , but just like my original problem , it never found it , then eventually it said 'windows encountered an error while searching for the driver' and it never installed. Now none of my usb devices work
