Dual Monitor Setup

Ok. I apologize in advanced if this the wrong forum.
-----------------------

I have an HP pavilion dv5237cl with Intel Core Duo and 2gb of RAM..and a generic microsoft (shared Memory) graphics card. I do have a VGA slot and a S video slot too. I was wondering my laptop is able to Dual.

--------------------------------
This following question is ONLY if i am able to do Dual Monitor.

Can i buy two Reg monitors (lcd or crt) and hook them to the laptop and use them only (not my laptop screen).

----------------
The reason i ask is because i want to make a station for myself at my house..I'm gonna buy a usb keyboard and mouse, Speakers with sub woofer (*drools*), and i want to do the dual monitors with the real monitors. I love laptops for being portable but when I;m at home i just want to plug it in and chill.

Re: Dual Monitor Setup

All laptops have this feature which enables them to project the display on the LCD to the projector.

As long as you have a VGA slot, you can hook up any external monitor to it and have dual display

Just make sure you switch between the views mode; LCD display on your laptop, display on an external display and dual display. Different laptops have different keys to press to switch. Some is F4 while others are different. Consult your manual for that

Note: If you have 1 VGA slot, you can use 1 external display only. I am not sure if there is a device that allows you to extend 1 VGA slot at your laptop to 2 extension

Re: Dual Monitor Setup

Ok that's cool. Would this work as s video to vga (and allow me to use as another screen for dualness)?
