Vista and Matshita DVD-RAM

DVD problem with a Toshiba laptop running Vista. It was working fine but now the error message says the drivers may be corrupt but I can't find drivers for it!!

I've uninstalled, reintstalled, deleted the lower filters "key" and updated drivers. My searches reveal that there is a compatibility issue with Vista and the drivers for this DVD. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Check Device Manager. Enable "show hidden devices" & report any flags.

I am not in front of the laptop currently, however, the device manager shows an exclamation point on the Matshita DVD-RAM drive

Post specs of the Toshiba and the DVD device.

Your best source for drivers is Toshiba; you should have gotten a driver installation disk from them. enable "show hidden devices" in device manager and see if there are any other flagged devices that may be interfering with the dvd device.

Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA Device. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A135 with 1.5 Gigs of RAM, Intel Celeron M processer 433, 1.86 GHz, running Vista. The machine is not at my location so I cannot go to the device manager to see conflicts.
