no screen comes up
Hi ,
I'm new here, I hope this is the right place My laptop no longer displays anything on the screen. My son wa playing World of Warcraft and he said the screen froze. He shut down and powered up, but now teh screen is completely blank. It is an HP Pavilion DV9000z laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 video card (which I've found out is integrated) I originally thought I could just get a new video card , but that doesn't appear to be the case Any advice is appreciated Thanks Jerry |

Re: Help Needed
When the laptop screen goes blank, it is a good bet that the LCD display is gone for good. Ask your son or whoever who uses the laptop regularly, before the screen goes blank, was there any weird horizontal or vertical lines appearing on the screen. If there was, then there is a high chance the LCD is gone
Try hooking up the laptop to an external display and switch its display mode to external. Ever laptop button is specific. Some is F4, some is FN F4 while some others is F8. Need to consult manual for that If that works, then LCD is gone. If it doesn't work, then there might be a chance that why the display is black is due to settings or driver problem |
