My Inspiron 2200 battery will not charge past a certain point..It charges slightly (just enough to begin booting up) when it is off, and completely stops charging when the computer is turned on. I have recently purchased a new battery and power adapter, but this has not solved the problem...
I have no idea whats going on with it :( Any advice would be awesome.. Torizoe |

Re: dell inspiron 2200: battery not charging
A trick that I have used to recover a battery is to put it in the freezer for awhile, let it warm back up and then try recharging. It worked a few times, not always.- this only works on NiCad batteries.
I had to replace my charger once. I have replaced the battery. Rechargeable batteries lose their charge if sitting around too long. Correct to occassionally run the battery down so keep it from developing a memory - this only works on NiCad batteries. Metal Hydride batteries lose 5% per day just sitting, but don't develop memories. A LiOn battery doesn't develop a memory. |
