HP Laptop

The bootlog is corrupted and will not make it to the windows logo. I do not have a back-up disk. Do I need to just get a copy of XP and reinstall? I remember working on an HP desktop in the past that had a corrupted bootfile and don't remember using a back-up disk to reintall xp.

exactly what computer do you have? do you have recovery partition? What is the exact error message are you getting?

You should be able to get replacement recovery disks from hp. Just go to their help and support for more information on your specific model?

Baldie, Is your laptop still under warranty. If so, HP will send you the OS reinstall CD's. I just recovered my HP Pavilion using a pair of recovery CD's. HP got them to me very quickly.
