Hi (: I'm new to tsf. I decided to come here and try to see if anyone can possibly help me.
Basically, my dad gave me his old laptop a few weeks ago. It's a Panasonic Toughbook CF-50 that runs on Windows XP. I have a Linksys Wireless Internet Card Model WPC54G. Everything was working fine until about two days ago. Now, my laptop freezes everytime I connect to the network and/or go online and I have to reset the comp . Everything else works fine and when I disable the internet connection my laptop is fine. So, I'm pretty sure the card is the problem. I've tried reinstalling the card like three times. I thought I had it fixed today, but while I was on the internet it started freezing up again. When I say freeze, I mean I can't move the mouse, there's no keyboard function, there's nothing. I have no idea what to do. I just got this laptop and I'm pretty sure my memory is fine. My dad really didn't use it much and it doesn't have anything on it but the basics and Firefox. But I don't really know how to check the memory... Yes, I dont really know much about computers, so if anyone can tell me step by step how to fix this, that would really help. I'm getting desperate. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Laptop freezes because WiFi card?
Have you thought about Antivirus software interferences? You might try uninstalling yours to test whether your wireless card works ok without it. Then reinstall if that doesn't seem to be the problem.
