Hi All,
I was asked to clean reinstall XP home on a Toshiba M50 for a friend. Windows was installed correctly, service pack 2 applied and I started installing drivers. When I installed the driver for the media buttons the machine blue screened, as it was set to restart I couldn't see what the error was. It restarted back into windows no issue. I continued installing drivers, on the next restart the machine would not boot past the initial windows loading screen and the following blue screen error occurred: Bad_Pool_Caller with stop code: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007,0x00000CD4,0x00720067,0xF8A654A8) I booted into safe mode successfully and set it do 'diagnostic startup' in msconfig, restarted and was presented with the same blue screen. I performed a memtest and a disk check using seatools, no errors found. I attempted to perform a repair install, this was stopped by the same blue screen as it was restarting after the initial copying of files. I haven't found anything conclusive online but I'm guessing its a driver conflict?? Does anyone have any ideas as to what caused these issues and how I can get around them? Thanks in advance!
