Re: broken screen
If you are still able to get on the laptop, rightclick the desktop and in properties, settings, advanced, try different screen refresh rates or resolutions. I was getting the same when I first tried it for the fun of it. I had to change my screen refresh rate.

Re: broken screen
Hi thanks for the reply unfortunatley the screen is smashed so I cant see anything however the machine appears to boot up ok because it plays the windows start up music. I am thinking i may well be in a catch 22 situation but feel it would be terrible to just throw it away. Is there anyway I can carry out the adjustments required blind so to speak? I would also like to be able to connect my girlfriends laptop up to the screen just in case I drop hers lol.

Theres no way you can do it blind because theres several steps to go through including tabs and a possible drop down menu for your screen refresh rate with a slide bar for your resolution.

Re: broken screen
Well my old laptop has its monitor spoilt for unknown reason, perhaps bcuz of old age. So i did like what you thought could be done, plugging the laptop to a external monitor but then i didn't need to do any screen refresh or settings on the laptop
Just hit the special button on the laptop that tell the laptop to display its display outwards. Dun know if i am making sense. It is like when u plug you laptop to a projector and hit the special button (need to refer to manual for that as each laptop has a different button). |
