Hello dear forum's members , it's my first requst in this great forum , and I hope to see the best here LOOK I have a dell notebook (inspiron 6400) and it was with 512MB of ram (256MB x2) but I'm an online player , so I need more than that . I upgraed it to 2GB (1GB x2) but after that , CPU usage jumped to 40 ~ 60% !!!! I don't know why , but I can't open any game now and when I put the 256MG , it turns to normal CPU usage (1 ~ 3%) but I paid about $80 for nothing please if you know how to fix this problem , help me some info about my PC : 1.86 MGz dual core 2GB of ram 80GB of hard disk and the new ram is : ddr2 1GB 667MHz thank you |

Re: I posted this problem twice ! and no reply !
The obvious question is : Are the sticks a matched pair. have you tried swapping them around.(if you have already tried these then please accept my apologies).
When you boot try going into the Bios and see what Ram is showing. |

Re: I posted this problem twice ! and no reply !
i tried to use another kind of 1 GB
but the problem still happens the sticks work well , and thay're matched but i wanna know if there is a relationship between the RAM amount and CPU usage ... coz that only happen when the system memory is high but when i use 1GB (which is 2 x 512MB) the CPU works better so , my problem doesn't allow me to use high system memory i hope that explains my problem BTW , i checked my BIOS and everything is going well . and i really thank you for your help , belfasteddie but please try to end this , i still need your advice :) that's it ......... |
