D drive wont work

Hi guys i installed a new web cam today (advent ADE-A1) and after a successful instalation from disc i tried to use it at which point i got a bsod and my laptop shut down. when it rebooted i tried to run a dvd in my drive and it just wont read anything when i go on to my computer and click on D drive it just opens and says file is empty. i have tried loads of different discs but none work any ideas?

Hello
I got the same problem with my new 32 bit vista laptop..
worked fine yesterday installing Rome: Total War, now im trying to install webcam drivers/tablet drivers and it doesnt want to know.

click start and in the search bar type in device manager. Your drive should be listed under DVD/CD-ROM Drives. See if there is a yellow triangle with an "!" inside of it. If there is try updating your drivers

Ok- did that with my dad (tech man... Thank goodness!)
I do have a "!" and after a bit of digging, itturns out the driver:
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-861H ATA Device
Is the problem.
Found a microsoft page on it ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 ) and am going to follow the instructions and see how it goes. I'll tell if it worked or not :)
