HELP!!! Satellite A10 overheating and shutting down :(
hey there everybody,
i have a BIG problem that is driving me nuts. my toshiba Satellite A10 overheats and shuts down on a regular basis. yes i know it is an old laptop...and the Toshiba tech people have done nothing except take my money. What i desperately need to know is: 1. What is causing the problem? 2. How do I change the CPU/fan settings to stop it happening? 3. Is there a program I can download that will help me control the CPU speed to keep the bugger cool? EDIT: I already have a cooling pad with THREE fans...one of the ones that plugs into one of the USB ports. Oh, and I've taken the cover off that covers the fan to try to help...but it hasn't helped :( And I've cleaned all the dust and crap out several times. Sorry for not proofreading the typos on this post but i have to be quick before this damn thing shuts down again! Help me please before I go mental. Cheerrs in advance you handsome bunch of champions :) Regards, Monkeyboy Last edited by monkeyboy666; 12-18-2007 at 04:37 AM. |
