EEK! Toshiba LCD Turns All White Out of Nowhere

I was just browsing the internet. The laptop wasn't even touching anything but the table, and seemingly randomly the screen just washed out and became all white. I mean, it didn't exactly all at once become white, it took about one second and it kind of faded to white. I turned it off and turned it back on, when it came on it went immediately to being white all white.

Someone, please, tell me this problem can be fixed without just buying a new machine.

if you have a desktop monitor plug that in and see if its all white also, It will help determine if its a lcd problem or something else.

Hi, I am having the same problem with my Sharp laptop display, it turns white and the processor seems to stop working right there. Have you got your problem fixed?

Re: Toshiba LCD Turns All White Out of Nowhere

So for a while the laptop worked fine. I left it off for about 12 hours and when I turned it back on it was fine, until tonight. I came back to the laptop and the screen was having the same issue. All the sounds and stuff are still functioning like normal, so I brought it over to a desktop computer in my house and plugged it up to a monitor. It works fine with an external monitor, but the lcd on the laptop remains with the problem of a white screen.

Does anyone know what's going on with this stupid thing?!

Re: Toshiba LCD Turns All White Out of Nowhere

Could it be a problem with the laptop bios or something like that?

Re: Toshiba LCD Turns All White Out of Nowhere

I have a toshiba the same thing. The only solution is to go into the control panel.Go to the power panel option. Click on power management. Go to advanced options. Scroll down to processor power options. Increase them all the battery and straight power to 100 % . There is no cure known of Toshiba don'snt want to admitt there is a problem. Probably a class action lawsuit will be on the way soon. There are many people this is happening to. It's too bad I really like the system. This will fix it.
