Swapping notebook hard drives
I own 2 notebooks and need to swap drives (or change computers with my wife). The smaller notebook (a Toshiba U200) has too small of a hard drive so I ordered a 200G 7500RPM drive for it. I need to load everything from my HP zd8000, a 17" with a 100G drive, onto the Toshiba. I purchased the drive and I have an external 2.5" enclosure to perform any data transfers before loading the drive. I am a bit unsure of the process from here on out. I know that the Toshiba has different drivers than the HP so I am unsure about how to do the exchange.
Brief summary: Transfer data from HP to fresh drive to install into a Toshiba laptop. Help please. |

Re: Swapping notebook hard drives
Hi,
Which files do you need? Maybe you can move some of the files over from the 100GB to the 200GB. This might be a bit tricky and TBH it would be much easier to just get an external hard disk for the laptop with the disk that is full. Your plan would involve switching hard disks and reinstalling Windows twice which is a real pain.
