Grin new labtop for gamin and other-alienware Area-51 m95750

I am looking to buy a new laptop. I want one that can run some games like world of BC, command and conquer 3, and and maybe some other more intense games and games in the near future on it. I am debating on either getting it with windows vista, or XP. I am more towards xp because i grew up on XP and i have heard and research some problems with the new vista and some thing are not compadable and takes more
to run smoothly. I will post the specs and tell me any other info i should know about this lab top, the specs i picked or any thing else. Also what is the difference between a 17" 1920 x 1200 LCD with clearview compared to a 17" 1440 x 900?

Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005

Dual 512MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX - SLI Enabled

24x DVD-ROM/CD-RW Burner

That spec seems fairly decent to run todays games, but in the future doubts will arise. Firstly there are some higher model mobile graphics cards on the market in notebooks especially with Nvidia. For gaming I would say XP for the fact less resources are used to run the OS. Your main problem will be heat so be sure to invest in a very decent cooling pad if your gaming for hours.

Hey rocktoaheadrush welcome join in ,I think your choice is very good for gaming but the pirce is not that good .I've got to know that the ASUS G1S-1A 15.4" gaming laptop is quite good also :
2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, 160 GB hard drive, 2 GB RAM (4 GB max), dual-layer DVD burner ,NVDIA GeForce 8600M video card ,Windows Vista Home Premium .
It is on sale for $1637 with a deal ,I think you can have a look at it :

I would configure a laptop from a well known manufacturer that uses third party parts. Please take the time to answer these questions and include them in your next reply.
