Toshiba A85-S107, How do I clear the bios password?
A friends A85 has started coming up wanting the bios password. No password has ever been set and I need to clear it. Does anyone know how?
Is it as simple as disconnecting the CMOS battery or unplugging or unsoldering the bios chip for a period of time? I have the expertise to do what is necessary, but I don't want to chance doing the wrong thing since it isn't my computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Toshiba A85-S107, How do I clear the bios password?
I appreciate it. I was also wondering if there is a master password that Toshiba uses?
There has to be a simpler way to do this. If there is a chip you can buy, where is is available and how much? Thanks |

Re: Toshiba A85-S107, How do I clear the bios password?
Unfortunately you will have to tell your friend to take it to a repair shop or send it to the manufacturer. If a password was never set it will not just start asking for it. The TSF rules do not permit help with bypassing security and passwords.
