Laptop Power Adpater Cable Question...

So my uncle gave me his laptop..its a "Dell Latitude D600" but he din't find the power cable, and the laptop battery is out of juice. My question is, Can I use any other power cable? my dad sayd "u buy another power cable you might fry it?" is it true?. Can I use any other power cable?

If you can get one from another dell machine, you should be fine. Most power cable probably won't fit other machines (i.e. power cables from HP's probably won't fit acer laptops).

My dad and I have both have a same make laptops, different model and we use each other's cables without issues.

Your local computer shop, if not, dell themselves should be able to help you out.

Just as a precaution, it's probably best to get a second opinion before getting the cable, just to make sure it'll work with your machine.

Yeah and even if it is another dell cable or what not make sure it is the same wattage as the original if you can find the specs.
