How to take apart HP ZT3001us Pavilion
I have no LCD display & no external VGA display. Does anyone know where to download disassembly & reassembly instructions for the
HP zt3001us Pavilion laptop? I want to remove, test & possibly replace the video card. Last edited by argyris; 11-24-2007 at 10:57 PM. Reason: clarity |

Log onto the manufacturers site and D/L the Assembly manual. They are usually free. There will be heaps of them so make sure you get the correct manual. Be aware laptops are not like desktop, be VERY gentle when working inside.

Re: How to take apart HP ZT3001us Pavilion
most likely the video is intregrated into the motherboard. It may not be as simple as pulling it out like in a desktop.
One thing to check, when you turn on your computer, listen closely, does it sound like its turning on as normal with fans, lights and such but only without any screen? If so, then it could just be bad ram. Maybe pulling the ram and putting it back in will help. Personally I wil not take apart a laptop because so much could go wrong. I will do the simple stuff like replacing ram, drives and such but if it requires taking apart the case, then I will take it to an expert. Last edited by sobeit; 11-25-2007 at 12:55 AM. |
