Hey guys,
I have an asus z70Va laptop with Windows XP SP2. My laptop's internal keyboard got fried so I have been using an extrenal USB keyboard for a few months now. However, since yesterday the function key is doing the exact opposite of what it is supposed to. eg Normally, pressing the 'p' key with the 'fn' key pressed, should print a '-' and without the fn key pressed should print the letter 'p'. however with me, the reverse is happening - I need to press the 'fn' key and the 'p' key to get p. pressing 'p' without the fn key gives me a '-'. it gets weirder when i first login, and enter my password at the login screen this problem is not there. but once the desktop loads up, this problem surfaces. stuff i have already tried tried with with many different keyboards - same result. tried re-installing the driver from the cd that ame with the keyboard - no effect. tried rolling back using system restore - no effect. everything was working fine for the last 6 months+ .. i dunno what to do with this, it is very annoying and hhelp would be greatly appreciated |
