Dell Inspiron 1501 issue
I have had this laptop since July and I had never had an issue with it until this evening. I had the laptop on and running and ran to use the restroom and came back to a black screen with a box full of lines in it. So I reboot it and get a black screen. The status lights on it are the cap lock and scroll lock and it doesnt seem to be processing anything. What do I do?

Re: Dell Inspiron 1501 issue
I would start by letting it sit out for awhile and then coming back. It doesn't sound like a monitor issue. If that doesn't fix it the next thing I would do is swap out the RAM. First re-seat each stick. Then, try running with one stick, then the other.

Re: Dell Inspiron 1501 issue
Yeah, I would be ticked off if I had to. My E-Machine didn't give me this many issues in the 3 years I owned it. The only problem I did have is when it wiped the memory clean and I had to reinstall all my programs. Other than that... The Dell gives me the most issues
