[SOLVED] inspiron 5160 won't take a charge

I have a Dell Inspiron 5160 and it started not charging up a couple of weeks ago!
Before that the battery charging light wouldn't come on all the time and the battery was picky about when it would charge!
well finally it just quit on me!
I changed the DC power jack hoping that would change the problem but it didn't!
What should I do?
Please help! I'm about ready to throw this thing away!

That is a link to another person on this site that i think is having the same problem as you. Same laptop so I am going with keep calling Dell. At some point they have to do something.

Thanks! I went to the forum on Dell and I went through the steps of checking what was wrong and they said I have to change the motherboard!
I don't want to do that because I no longer have a warrenty and it will cost more to change that then to buy a new laptop!

Also my battery is good and my AC Adapter is good!

Your welcome, sorry about this, i would still call dell. It does not seem like an isolated case and they may start to fix them for free at some point or something like that.

Okay so I did what you said and I called Dell!
Turns out my laptop is still under warrenty! so they are fixing it for free!!
