Sudden death Dell Inspiron 6000... ?cause
While reading a page of text on an 18-month old Dell Inspiron 6000, the unit issued a faint "pop" and went completely dark. No other noises and no odor. Now even the plug-in power supply fails to light the LEDs indicating external power. Problem persists when battery removed and laptop plugged in. No response of any sort to pressing the power-on button. Any thoughts on possible causes, other diagnostic tests, etc.
