Checking my RAM
I believe over the past year I have burned out my computers RAM. I don't turn my machine off very frequently and consequently now it runs much slower then it did 14 months ago when I bought it. I'm fairly sure it's a piece of hardware that's wearing out because I've formatted before and it will still lag terribly semi-frequently even after a format.
Thus my question is as follows. I'm mostly sure it's the RAM that is dying, is there any diagnostic test I can do that will check if my theory is correct. Or does anyone else here have any suggestion as to what component on my machine might be performing at a much lower standard due to being left on 24/7 for 14 months. (It was turned off as needed for travel/reboots etc. but in essence it was on all the time for that period of time). If it matters I have an IBM T43p Laptop. Re: Checking my RAM
That is the point is I really don't know how to check my RAM or CPU. I'm also not surprised that it might have overheated and damaged something, my laptop has 2GB of ram in it and at times ran very hot. I've gotten a cooling pad for it recently but I think it's too late.
