Dvd Rom Drive - Bios???

hey well i am using a laptop, an since i bought it my dvd rom drive doesnt work, well it did but after 2 months it stopped - for a while it worked if it was tilted lol - it lets you put cd's/games ect in, an makes the whirring noise but my computer doesnt actually acknowledge that there is anything there, a friend sed it might be to do with the bios but i dont know what to do to see.

enter the bios upon start-up / see if you can "see" the drive in the boot order section of the bios / if the bios sees the drive and correctly identifies it, then chances are its either a poor data connection or most likely a faulty drive

to buy a new one,if it's under warranty ask for a rma from the supplier and let them fix it
