Reformatted Hardrive

I have an old Gateway Solo 5300 laptop. I reformatted the hardrive and installed win98. Since doing that the touchpad will not work and the right side of the keyboard does not work without hitting the Fn key. I have been to the gateway site and tried the touchpad driver for win2000 but it still does not work. Does anyone have any ideas?

If they don't offer Win98 drivers for the touchpad you may be out of luck. You might find better help in the Laptop Support forum. I'll have the thread moved to that forum.

As for the keyboard, did you install the keyboard driver from Gateway?

Gateway has 98 drivers for everything except the touchpad. I tried the keyboard driver, it is actually flashing the bios but I could not get it to work.
